Ok. Time to get this started. I see hundreds of live bands each year. I hear a lot of albums before they’re released, and I often see films at midnight while everyone else is sleeping or drunk.
As a writer, I have a lot to say about these things, and a lot to share. I write for a number of outlets, but they all have one thing in common: conflict of interest. For years and years, I’ve had to carefully police my own writing to ensure that I never cover bands that are too deeply inside my network. This means I can’t preview the new YOB record, or gush about how SubArachnoid Space has made their greatest work to date.
Nepotism is rampant and conflict of interest is an important thing to pay attention to. So I just want to disclaim right here and now that THIS IS MY BLOG AND I CAN WRITE ABOUT WHATEVER AND WHOEVER I WANT. Please enjoy. – Nathan Carson 06/03/09
